The Inaugural Trek - the Khutzeymateen

Today was a great day on the west coast of northern British Columbia! The inaugural trek was supported by boat as we captured areas along the west coast and into Khutzeymateen Provincial Park – Canada’s only Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, located just outside of Prince Rupert.

Aboard the Inside Passage

Prince Rupert Adventure Tours hosted us on the Inside Passage – a spectacular vessel designed for a wildlife viewing experiences. The many different viewing platforms enabled us to capture images from different vantage points along the route.

The wildlife on the trip was plentiful.  Humpback Whales near the mouth of the Work Channel provided guests with some great photo opportunities as they flashed their tails during a feed. Grizzly bears roamed the banks of the awe inspiring Khutzeymateen Inlet, feeding on grass, cooling off in the water, and keeping everyone entertained.  It was a great northern British Columbia experience.

Check out Visit Prince Rupert for more information and help planning your adventure to the northwest coast and the Khutzeymateen.
