Hello Houston! There are so many hidden treasures in this community, I wish I had more time to explore.
If you are looking for a great view of the community and surrounding area, the 3.9km hike up to Story Lookout will not disappoint! The lookout shelter at the top is a great place to refuel before heading back.
The Morice Mountain Nordic Ski area is full of trails to explore. I really enjoyed the 1.9km trek down the Old Pines Nature trail. The boardwalk across the wetland surrounding Beaver Pelt Lake makes for a great wildlife viewing location.
One of my favorite treks in the Houston area had to be Buck Falls, a series of three waterfalls in a stunning location. Even the drive to the falls offers rewards, including views of Morice Mountain and the Houston Palisades.
